13 Fall Front Porch Decor Ideas That Welcome Autumn
When Is The Best Time To Decorate For Fall?
Is August too early to start decorating for fall? You can start on the inside with fall decorating as early as August, back to school time, but I’d recommend waiting until early-mid September or October when Halloween is close for outside.
If you start during mid-September, you’ll have time to enjoy your decor all the way up until Thanksgiving.
You can choose decorations and accessories that will work for both holidays, saving time by needing to decorate once for both holidays.
How Do You Style a Front Porch for Fall?
The possibilities are limitless. But a few decorative items that will work for both holidays are:
- natural gourds
- velvet pumpkins
- rustic grapevine pumpkins
- Farmhouse vase filled with pampas grass, autumn flowers, and faux maple leaves
- Handmade wreaths
Choose a color scheme that is neutral and can be easily displayed from September to December. Or use some old antique or primitive things like old wagons, galvanized watering cans, etc.
How Long Should You Leave Up Fall Decorations?
The day after Thanksgiving officially kicks off the Christmas season. So, taking down fall decor and packing it away the last week of November is great timing to get ready for Christmas.
