In place of a drive-thru, prepare a large pan of Quick and Easy Goulash at home! It’s warm and filling and your family will love it.
You’ve rushed all day doing errands, picked up kids from school and practice and now you’ve got to feed the family. It would be so easy to hit a drive-thru but then feel guilty for feeding such to your family.
Since we have started cooking from scratch, I’ll be the first to admit, its not always easy to feed the family. This quick and easy goulash is one of my favorite “go-to” recipes. If you need a quick and easy recipe for dinner, this is it.
Quick and Easy Goulash
Makes about 4 meals.
Ingredients:
1 pound – lean Ground Beef
1/2 cup Onion; chopped
1 Garlic Clove; minced
16 ounces – canned Tomatoes (1 can)
1 tablespoon – dried Celery Flakes
1/2 cup – water
1 teaspoon – Salt
1 1/2 teaspoon – Black Pepper
2 tablespoons – dried Basil
1 teaspoon – Marjoram Leaves
1 1/2 cups – dry Whole Wheat Elbow Noodles (about 3 ounces)

Instructions:
- Cook and stir ground beef and onion in a large skillet until meat is brown and chopped onions are tender. (If you have any excess fat, drain this off meat before adding other ingredients)
- Stir in tomatoes with the liquid and remaining ingredients, mixing well
- Heat to boiling, uncovered
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer. Stirring occasionally until noodles are tender
- About 20 minutes
- Serve hot
- (A small amount of water can be added if needed)

This recipe is so forgiving, it can be doubled if needed. It doesn’t change the flavor. So depending on how many you need to serve, adjust accordingly. Your family is going to be so please and excited! They will love it and ask for it often.
I must say when I make Quick and Easy Goulash here on the homestead, we rarely have left-overs.
NOTE: This recipe can be cooked in advance and frozen. Just heat in the microwave. Even QUICKER!
Cooking healthier meals to the alternative of “fast-food” does not have to be time consuming or difficult. Hope you will try my goulash and leave comments below to let me know how your family responded.
