Do you love delicious made from scratch chewy chocolate cookies? I know I do and so do the kids. I get a hankering from time to time for something sweet and this recipe just hits the spot. It’s quick, it’s easy, it’s delicious!
A lot of recipes say they are “chewy” but when they cool, they remind me of a hard bricks or that’s the case I’ve experienced. I could but chewy cookies from the grocery market, but who know’s what is in them? This chocolate cookie recipe is just that – they are moist and chewy even when cooled. And since it is a made from scratch recipe, I feel more comfortable with the kids eating them. I know exactly what’s in them.
In place of a drive-thru, prepare a large pan of Quick and Easy Goulash at home! It’s warm and filling and your family will love it.
You’ve rushed all day doing errands, picked up kids from school and practice and now you’ve got to feed the family. It would be so easy to hit a drive-thru but then feel guilty for feeding such to your family.
Since we have started cooking from scratch, I’ll be the first to admit, its not always easy to feed the family. This quick and easy goulash is one of my favorite “go-to” recipes. Read more
I remember growing up at home mom would, at times, surprise us with a warm peach cobbler for dessert. I must say I wasn’t much help to her when she was cooking because I always preferred to be outside with my dad, down at the barn or possibly in the hayfield, depending on the time of year.
It was always such a joy though when you walk into the front door and smell the fresh peach cobbler in the oven.
Yum, really good memories. I should tell you that my mom is a real southern cook. Read more
The new name is: Triple Chocolate Oreo Crumble, thanks to Emily F. in Athens, TN.
It’s my favorite – Chocolate! Yes, I love it and most everyone that I know loves it too. Anytime I am offered chocolate, it’s hard for me to say no. I mean come on, who doesn’t love to have a little bit of chocolate once in a while. I agree, we don’t need it a lot, but…every now and again – it’s ok.
We’ve been planning a bonfire here on the homestead for several weeks now and I knew that we would have our normal Smore’s available with graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate and a cake too, but I wanted to try something new and a little different than our normal dessert. Read more
We eat a lot of chicken around her at our house and I am always looking for ways to cook it just to change things up a bit. I’ve been looking at Pinterest and online recipe blogs, trying several different pot pie recipes. The boys are my friendly critics in whether it is good or not. I’ve “concocted” this one from 3-4 different ones I’ve tried. They wipe it out when I cook it, so I can assume that it is good.
Canning season is full swing and today activity is canning Sweet Relish. I had told you that I would share my recipes I have for canning and preserving vegetables from the garden, since I have had so many asking. Now that it has slowed down quite a bit, I feel like I am taking back control of the schedule and can begin to share again.
In an earlier blog, Is Your Kitchen Busy These Days, the garden at that time was in full swing and total chaos was taking place. I have just gotten my last run of tomatoes for the day and they are on the stove now to can pizza sauce.
The peppers and cucumbers are done for the season, but the okra and all the herbs are still in full swing. It all seems to come in at the same time and for a few weeks, it feels like mad chaos. I have said it many times, and I will say it again, it is a lot of work, but so very much worth it!
Anyway, today I thought I would share how to make Sweet Relish. Read more
